US Open ATP: Marcos Giron vs Ignacio Buse

Game context
Ignacio Buse enters the US Open first-round matchup against Marcos Giron on a career-high wave after claiming the Winston-Salem ATP 250 title the prior week, his second trophy of 2026 and a hard-court surge that lifted him to a top-30 ranking. The 22-year-old Peruvian has won five straight matches on the surface and holds the lone head-to-head edge from their June grass encounter at Queen’s. Giron, ranked near 78, arrives with inconsistent recent results, multiple hard-court losses in the lead-up, and a long US Open history limited to early exits despite his experience on the Flushing Meadows courts. Buse’s momentum and ranking advantage shape trader consensus on this hard-court opener.
