US Open WTA: Daria Kasatkina vs Paula Badosa
Paula Badosa61
Daria Kasatkina12Game context
Daria Kasatkina enters the US Open first-round matchup against Paula Badosa as the more active player on hard courts, with recent matches in Washington, Toronto, and Cincinnati offsetting a mixed record. Badosa, ranked 87 after rebuilding via a July clay-court surge that included a Bastad title and Iasi final, brings strong historical results but arrives without competitive hard-court matches since March and following extended injury absences. Kasatkina leads the head-to-head 5-3, including straight-sets wins in their last two encounters, while both players sit outside the top 50 and face a tightly contested opener on outdoor hard where recent match volume and surface adaptation weigh heavily on trader assessments of implied probabilities.
