US Open ATP: Juan Manuel Cerundolo vs Arthur Gea

Juan Manuel Cerundolo3662Game context
Juan Manuel Cerundolo, the higher-ranked left-hander at No. 45 with prior US Open main-draw experience, faces 21-year-old Frenchman Arthur Gea in a first-round hard-court matchup. Gea enters on strong momentum after claiming his maiden ATP title in Los Cabos, where he defeated top players including Francisco Cerundolo, and arrives as a lucky loser following a loss in qualifying. Both players show solid hard-court records this season, though Cerundolo’s greater consistency and ranking edge contrast with Gea’s recent surge and youth. No prior head-to-head exists, and the outcome hinges on serve effectiveness and break-point conversion in the outdoor conditions at Flushing Meadows.
