Elvina Kalieva372Game context
Lanlana Tararudee enters the US Open first-round matchup against Elvina Kalieva holding a ranking edge at No. 72 (career high) compared to Kalieva’s No. 115, backed by a stronger 2026 record of roughly 41-17. Tararudee has shown consistent hard-court results across the North American swing, including wins over lower-ranked opponents and a Wimbledon second-round appearance, despite a recent qualifying loss in Monterrey. Kalieva arrives after a solid qualifying run that included victories over Kristina Mladenovic and Sofia Costoulas, improving her momentum on outdoor hard courts, though her main-draw experience remains limited and her season win rate trails Tararudee’s. With no prior head-to-head history, the contest hinges on Tararudee’s higher ranking, serve consistency, and overall form versus Kalieva’s recent qualifier surge in a best-of-three Grand Slam setting.
