Game context

The Cleveland Guardians enter the series at Progressive Field riding a seven-game winning streak and 8-2 mark in their last 10 contests, positioning them just 2.5 games out of the final AL Wild Card spot behind strong home performance and timely offense from Steven Kwan, Jose Ramirez, and Travis Bazzana. The Royals, at 60-75, arrive after a dominant 13-2 road win and 10 victories in their previous 11 games despite ending a nine-game streak, though they face challenges with second baseman Michael Massey on the concussion IL and a 24-45 road record. Right-hander Michael Wacha (7-8, 3.49 ERA) opposes Tanner Bibee (5-13, 3.97 ERA) in the opener of a three-game set where Cleveland holds a 4-3 season-series edge. Recent momentum and home-field factors shape trader consensus around the Guardians’ implied probability edge.
