Game context
The Red Sox hold a clearer edge in the AL East standings at 64-54 versus the Blue Jays’ 57-63 mark, bolstered by stronger recent overall form despite dropping three straight entering the series at Rogers Centre. Boston’s probable starter Suarez brings a 3.32 ERA into the Aug. 12 matchup, while Toronto counters with Soriano in a limited recent sample. Key roster notes include ongoing Blue Jays absences such as Arrighetti on the IL and Springer dealing with shoulder concerns, alongside Red Sox day-to-day illness for Yoshida. Home/road splits and divisional positioning continue to shape trader views on implied probabilities for the series outcome.
