US Open, Qualification WTA: Yue Yuan vs Hanyu Guo
Hanyu Guo24
Yue Yuan66Game context
Yue Yuan enters this US Open qualifying first-round match on hard courts as the higher-ranked player at No. 138 with a career-high of No. 36, giving her a clear edge in singles depth and recent main-draw exposure compared to No. 210 Hanyu Guo. Yuan’s 2026 hard-court results show mixed form but consistent ability to compete against mid-tier opponents, while Guo, a doubles specialist who reached No. 9 and won Wimbledon doubles in 2026, has posted limited singles success outside ITF events and recent qualifying losses. Head-to-head records predate their current levels and hold little weight on outdoor hard. Both right-handers bring solid baseline games suited to the surface, though Yuan’s ranking and singles focus position her as the consensus favorite in trader pricing for advancement.
