Game context

The San Francisco Giants enter Tuesday’s matchup at Oracle Park leading the series 1-0 after a 5-0 shutout Monday, powered by Rafael Devers’ three-run homer and early offense against Cincinnati’s Chase Burns that snapped a four-game skid. Both clubs sit well out of playoff contention—the Reds at 62-70 in the NL Central and the Giants at 53-78 in the NL West—with extensive injury lists forcing the Giants to deploy a makeshift lineup of recent Triple-A call-ups. Tuesday’s probable starters, Brady Singer (5-11, 4.72 ERA) for the Reds and Adrian Houser (4-7, 4.08 ERA) for the Giants, present a closely contested pitching duel on a cool night at the waterfront ballpark. The Reds’ strong record in one-run games and season series tie at 2-2 add balance to the implied probabilities reflected in current market pricing.
