Game context

The Chicago White Sox (72-63) enter the Sunday series finale at Target Field riding a four-game win streak and holding a 4.5-game lead atop the AL Central, while the Twins (64-72) have dropped four straight and trail by 8.5 games. Chicago has taken the first two contests of the series and leads the season matchup 6-3 overall. Probable starters Jordan Hicks (3.83 ERA) and Zebby Matthews (4.86 ERA) face depleted bullpens on both sides, with multiple starters and relievers on the injured list, including Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (back). Recent form and division positioning have shaped trader consensus around the White Sox maintaining momentum against a Minnesota club clinging to slim wild-card math with under 30 games remaining.
