US Open ATP: Miomir Kecmanovic vs Denis Shapovalov

Miomir Kecmanovic4640Game context
Denis Shapovalov holds a clear edge over Miomir Kecmanovic in their first-round US Open clash on outdoor hard courts, backed by a dominant 6-0 head-to-head record that includes four hard-court wins, most recently a three-set victory in Dallas in February 2025. Shapovalov, ranked around No. 47, enters with slightly better recent hard-court results and greater rest after his last match in mid-August Cincinnati, while Kecmanovic (No. 64) arrives off a straight-sets loss in Winston-Salem just four days prior. Shapovalov’s shoulder issue from Wimbledon earlier in the season appears resolved, though both players post comparable 2026 win-loss marks near .45. Their prior meetings have often been tight, with multiple deciding sets, underscoring the potential for competitive sets in this best-of-five encounter.
