ITF W35 Trieste Women: Verena Meliss vs Camilla Zanolini

Game context
Verena Meliss and Camilla Zanolini, both Italian players ranked in the low 500s, meet in the first round of the ITF W35 Trieste on outdoor clay. Meliss, who captured a W35 title on clay in Santa Margherita di Pula earlier in 2026, holds a 16-11 seasonal record with solid results on the surface. Zanolini enters with a stronger overall 2026 ledger around 33-19, including a W35 title on hard courts in Hurghada and consistent performances across clay and hard. No prior head-to-head exists between them. As a home-soil event with comparable rankings and recent form, the matchup appears evenly balanced, with outcomes likely hinging on current match fitness, serve consistency, and adaptation to Trieste's clay conditions.
