Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard enters this US Open first-round match on outdoor hard courts ranked No. 104 after slipping outside the top 100 amid a five-match losing streak and a 14-19 record in 2026. The 23-year-old Frenchman, a former top-30 player with a powerful serve, has posted a 7-10 hard-court mark this season and seeks to stabilize results following an early Winston-Salem exit. Jurij Rodionov, the Austrian qualifier ranked No. 143, arrives with stronger momentum at 37-21 overall and 8-3 on hard this year, plus recent qualifying victories that mark his main-draw debut at the event. The pair has no prior head-to-head history, creating a matchup where Perricard’s raw power meets Rodionov’s consistency on a surface that rewards both serving and return play.
