US Open ATP: Damir Dzumhur vs Hubert Hurkacz
Hubert Hurkacz6464
Damir Dzumhur4611Game context
Hubert Hurkacz enters this US Open first-round matchup as the clear favorite against Damir Dzumhur, reflecting his higher ranking (No. 46-47), stronger hard-court record, and recent momentum from a Challenger title win in Cancun. The Pole has recovered from prior knee surgery and 2026 Wimbledon back/abdominal issues that forced a retirement, posting solid results on outdoor hard ahead of Flushing Meadows. Dzumhur, ranked No. 103 at age 34, holds a distant 1-0 head-to-head edge from a 2017 Davis Cup indoor match but shows weaker recent hard-court form and limited success at this level. Trader consensus prices in Hurkacz's superior serve, experience, and overall consistency while acknowledging the older underdog's potential for resistance in longer rallies or if fatigue or minor injuries affect the favorite.
