US Open WTA: Venus Williams vs Sofia Kenin
Sofia Kenin67
Venus Williams26⁶Game context
Sofia Kenin enters as the clear favorite against 46-year-old Venus Williams in this US Open first-round matchup, reflecting traders' assessment of the substantial gap in recent form and physical condition. Williams arrives winless in 11 singles matches during 2026 and has not advanced past the opening round at Flushing Meadows since 2019, while Kenin, despite a 6-20 record this season, secured recent victories over players such as Eva Lys and holds a significant edge in match fitness and movement on hard courts. Both competitors received wild cards for the event, but Williams' age and extended losing streak have shaped market pricing ahead of their first career meeting. The late-night Arthur Ashe Stadium scheduling adds a minor fatigue factor for the veteran.
