Emma Navarro74Game context
Emma Navarro enters the US Open first-round matchup against Lois Boisson as the clear market favorite, reflecting her superior ranking near No. 27, 26th-seed status, and stronger 2026 results including a Strasbourg title. The American has compiled a 20-17 record and reached the semifinals here in 2024, though recent hard-court form showed third-round exits in Toronto and Cincinnati. Boisson, ranked around No. 236 on a protected ranking with just four wins this season, faces added pressure from a left-foot injury that forced her retirement in Philadelphia days earlier. Navarro leads their head-to-head 1-0 after a 2025 Beijing retirement win on hard courts, where the surface and home-crowd support further tilt the matchup. Boisson’s limited main-draw experience and recent fitness concerns leave little room for an upset.
