Lucie Havlickova66Game context
Lucie Havlickova and Nao Hibino, ranked within a few spots of each other near WTA No. 225-227, met in US Open qualifying round three on outdoor hard courts with the winner advancing toward main-draw entry. The 21-year-old Czech arrived with strong recent hard-court results and momentum from a physically demanding three-set comeback victory over seeded Moyuka Uchijima in the prior round, while the 31-year-old Japanese player posted quicker straight-set wins but carried a 1-0 head-to-head edge from their July meeting. Both competitors posted comparable 2026 win-loss records around .500, with Hibino drawing on greater main-tour experience and Havlickova showing improved serving and return aggression on the surface. Matchup factors centered on serve consistency, break-point conversion, and recovery from the shorter turnaround between qualifying rounds.
