US Open WTA: Talia Gibson vs Donna Vekic
Donna Vekic643
Talia Gibson262Game context
Talia Gibson enters the US Open first-round matchup against Donna Vekic on outdoor hard courts with a narrow edge in trader consensus, reflecting her strong hard-court results earlier in 2026 and rapid ranking climb from outside the top 150 to the low 60s. The 22-year-old Australian posted multiple top-20 wins at Indian Wells and Miami, reached the third round at the Canadian Open, and holds a solid overall hard-court win rate, though her recent form shows inconsistency with three victories in her last ten matches. Vekic, ranked around No. 36-39 and more experienced at the Grand Slam level, captured the London title in June but has since endured a five-match losing streak amid variable results on hard courts. The pair has no prior head-to-head history, making recent form, surface preference, and fitness the primary variables shaping implied probabilities in this evenly matched opener.
