Game context
The New York Yankees enter the opener of their three-game home series against the Toronto Blue Jays on a four-game winning streak, buoyed by strong pitching and offensive momentum despite Aaron Judge remaining sidelined with a fractured rib. Cam Schlittler anchors the rotation with a 2.19 ERA, while the club sits at 72-55 and second in the AL East. The Blue Jays, at 63-66 and fourth in the division, arrive surging with a 14-7 mark over their past 21 games and recent series wins, though they will use opener Mason Fluharty and remain without Vladimir Guerrero Jr. due to concussion protocol. Multiple injuries on both sides, including Yankees absences of Giancarlo Stanton and Cody Bellinger, shape the matchup at Yankee Stadium.
