Minnesota Twins vs. San Diego Padres

Game context
The Twins (63-65) enter as slight road underdogs against the Padres (68-60) at Petco Park, carrying a three-game win streak while the Padres sit 7-3 over their last 10. Minnesota’s Connor Prielipp (3-6, 5.34 ERA) faces Randy Vasquez (8-6, 4.30 ERA) in a matchup favoring the home side’s steadier starter and stronger bullpen depth. Both clubs deal with rotation injuries—Twins without Joe Ryan and others, Padres missing Joe Musgrove and Lucas Giolito—but San Diego’s 37-26 home mark and lower team ERA provide an edge. Minnesota ranks higher in batting average and runs scored, yet the Padres’ recent form and home advantage shape trader consensus around a narrow favorite. The opener kicks off a three-game interleague set with playoff positioning at stake in both divisions.
