San Francisco Giants vs. Boston Red Sox

Game context
The Boston Red Sox (68-59) host the San Francisco Giants (52-75) at Fenway Park to open a three-game interleague series, with the Red Sox favored as home team against a club mired in last place in the NL West. Sonny Gray (15-3, 2.65 ERA) takes the ball for Boston against Logan Webb (8-7, 3.50 ERA), giving the Red Sox a clear edge in the probable-pitcher matchup. Boston’s offense has posted the sixth-best team batting average in MLB while the Giants sit at .247 and have lost eight consecutive road series. Multiple injuries on both rosters, including key Red Sox arms on the IL, add uncertainty, yet the Red Sox’ stronger overall form and home advantage shape current trader consensus around a Boston win. Rafael Devers’ return to Fenway after his 2025 trade to San Francisco adds a notable storyline.
