Game context

**The Chicago White Sox (70-63) lead the AL Central by 2.5–6.5 games over the Twins (64-70) and visit Target Field for a late-August series amid strong division positioning.** Both clubs carry injury-plagued rotations and lineups, with White Sox starter Luis Castillo (4-10, 5.19 ERA) and Twins counterpart Dean Kremer (2-4, 5.22 ERA) posting elevated ERAs while dealing with home-run vulnerability. Minnesota’s list includes Joe Ryan (glute), Byron Buxton (back, day-to-day), Austin Martin (hamstring), and multiple 60-day IL arms, limiting bullpen depth and lineup flexibility. Chicago’s absence of key catchers (Joey Bart, Kyle Teel) and relievers compounds the challenge but has not derailed recent form. The White Sox hold a 4-3 season-series edge and enter with better overall run differential and home/road splits that traders weigh against the Twins’ modest home winning percentage. Upcoming
