Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants

Game context
Both the Colorado Rockies (around 49-74) and San Francisco Giants (around 51-72) sit near the bottom of the NL West standings, with the Giants holding a narrow edge and home-field advantage at Oracle Park in their current series. The clubs split the first two games of their three-game set, as the Rockies took a 5-2 decision on August 14 behind strong starting pitching before the Giants responded with a 7-1 victory the following day. Probable starters for the August 16 matchup and any roster adjustments from official injury reports will shape bullpen usage and lineup decisions. Recent offensive output and defensive execution in interleague or divisional play have been inconsistent for both clubs, leaving outcomes highly dependent on starting pitching effectiveness and situational hitting at altitude or in coastal conditions.
