US Open, Qualification ATP: Vilius Gaubas vs Marco Cecchinato

Game context
Vilius Gaubas enters the US Open qualifying second round as the higher-ranked player at approximately No. 120 with a career-high of No. 101, fresh off a straight-sets win over Kilian Feldbausch in the opening round on outdoor hard courts. The 21-year-old Lithuanian has shown improved hard-court results this season alongside his stronger clay record. Marco Cecchinato, ranked No. 166 and a former top-20 player now at age 33, advanced past Liam Broady but remains a clay-court specialist with a historically weaker record on hard surfaces. The matchup favors Gaubas in trader consensus due to age, current ranking, and surface dynamics, though Cecchinato’s experience in Grand Slam qualifying adds uncertainty to the outcome.
