US Open, Qualification WTA: Heather Watson vs Angela Fita Boluda

Game context
Heather Watson enters the US Open women's qualifying second round on hard courts after rallying from a set down to defeat sixth seed Claire Liu 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the opener, marking her first appearance at Flushing Meadows in five years. The 34-year-old Briton, a former top-40 player with extensive Grand Slam experience, holds a strong historical record on the surface. Angela Fita Boluda, a 27-year-old Spaniard ranked outside the top 400, secured her maiden Grand Slam qualifier win by edging Zhu Lin 6-4, 7-6(7). With no prior head-to-head meeting, Watson's veteran poise and recent momentum contrast with Fita Boluda's solid ITF form and first-time breakthrough at this level, where the winner advances to the final qualifying round.
