US Open, Qualification WTA: Elena Pridankina vs Rebecca Marino

Game context
Elena Pridankina holds a substantial ranking edge at world No. 186 over veteran Rebecca Marino at No. 417, with the 20-year-old Russian posting a dominant 6-1, 6-3 first-round qualifying win over Aliona Falei on hard courts. Marino, the 35-year-old Canadian, advanced convincingly past seeded Fiona Ferro 6-1, 6-4 with eight aces but faces a stylistic test against Pridankina’s recent hard-court consistency and superior current form. The second-round qualifier pits Pridankina’s youth and momentum against Marino’s experience and serve-heavy game on the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center surface, where both players secured straight-set victories just two days prior.
