US Open WTA: Jessica Pegula vs Leylah Fernandez

Game context
Jessica Pegula enters this US Open third-round matchup as the clear favorite against Leylah Fernandez, bolstered by her No. 3 WTA ranking, 47-12 season record, and dominant hard-court form that includes straight-set wins over Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Sofia Kenin. The American has shown elite serving and low unforced errors while reaching the Cincinnati final recently. Fernandez, the No. 31 seed, has secured two straight-set victories to reach this stage but carries a more inconsistent 2026 record and trails the head-to-head 3-1, with Pegula winning their most recent hard-court encounter in Miami. Trader pricing reflects Pegula’s experience, home support, and consistent baseline game as key edges on outdoor hard courts.
