Game context
The St. Louis Cardinals enter the three-game set at Rogers Centre with a 52-51 record, sitting fourth in the NL Central, while the Toronto Blue Jays stand at 47-57 and fifth in the AL East. Recent form and pitching matchups shape sentiment, including probable starters such as Cardinals right-hander Kyle Leahy or Matthew Liberatore against Blue Jays arms like Dylan Cease or Kevin Gausman. Both clubs carry injury concerns, with St. Louis monitoring catcher Pedro Pages and reliever JoJo Romero alongside Toronto’s Lenyn Sosa and Max Scherzer’s rehab timeline. The Blue Jays’ home environment and recent roster additions provide context for the series, as does each team’s push amid their respective division and wild-card positioning.
