St. Louis Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Game context
The Phillies enter this late-August series with stronger overall roster health and a clearer path in the NL East standings, while the Cardinals battle multiple elbow injuries including Ramón Urías on the 60-day IL. Philadelphia’s recent 6-5 win in the opening game of the prior matchup at Busch Stadium highlighted their ability to capitalize on late offense, though St. Louis responded with strong pitching in the follow-up contests. Both clubs sit near .500 in their last 10 games, with the Phillies holding a slight edge in run production and the Cardinals relying on home-field familiarity when hosting. Upcoming factors include probable starters, bullpen availability after the recent series, and how each team’s wild-card positioning influences lineup decisions and rest management through the final weeks.
