Game context
The even implied probabilities in the Padres-Mets matchup reflect San Diego’s stronger 67-58 record and second-place NL West standing offset by New York’s home-field edge at Citi Field, where the Mets aim to extend a home winning streak. The 56-69 Mets trail in the NL East but benefit from rest and familiar surroundings, while the Padres arrive after a recent road swing and a snapped winning streak. Official injury reports list several Padres pitchers on the IL with rehab progress noted for key arms, though lineup impacts remain limited. Both clubs face tight playoff positioning with roughly six weeks left, making bullpen depth and late-inning execution critical situational factors.
