Athletics vs. Boston Red Sox

Game context
The Boston Red Sox enter this series against the Athletics on an extraordinary 27-3 stretch over the past 30 games, including a ninth consecutive victory highlighted by Payton Tolle's career-high 14 strikeouts in a 13-1 rout on August 7 at Fenway Park. Boston sits at 63-51, firmly in the AL East playoff picture with superior run differential and offensive firepower, while the Athletics languish at 45-70 with the league's worst record and recent nine-game skid. The A's offense has been limited against quality pitching, and their road performance at Fenway offers little historical edge. Upcoming factors include continued home starts for Boston's rotation and bullpen depth, plus the A's need to avoid further erosion in a lost season. Trader consensus reflects these momentum and roster disparities in implied probabilities for series or game outcomes.
