Game context

The Brewers enter the four-game set at Wrigley Field (with three more in Milwaukee Sept. 7-9) holding an eight-game NL Central lead at 85-52, while the Cubs sit at 77-60 and trail in the wild-card race. Milwaukee’s rotation depth, anchored by Jacob Misiorowski’s league-leading 1.73 ERA and Kyle Harrison’s recent form, pairs with a top NL bullpen to support their edge. Chicago counters at home with strong offensive output from Pete Crow-Armstrong and recent power surges, plus favorable pitching matchups early in the series, but must overcome a 3-7 stretch in their last 10 games. The seven head-to-head contests in a short window carry direct implications for division title and playoff seeding, with Brewers also managing select bullpen injuries.
