Game context
Both teams enter this August 4 matchup at T-Mobile Park with nearly identical records around .500, the Tigers at 54-58 in fourth place in the AL Central and the Mariners at 55-58 in third in the AL West. Mariners hold a slight home edge on the current series opener, where surface and park factors at T-Mobile Park typically suppress offense. Riley Greene’s strong career slash line against Seattle provides Detroit an offensive boost in the lineup, while Seattle’s addition of reliever Seranthony Domínguez and recent multi-hit performances bolster their bullpen and momentum. Official injury reports and starting pitching matchups remain the primary variables that traders monitor for shifts in implied probability.
