ITF MEN - SINGLES: M15 Monastir 28 (Tunisia), hard: Hugo Cardinaud vs Ilya Polonskiy

Game context
**Hugo Cardinaud, a 22-year-old Frenchman ranked around 1,866–2,200, faces 30-year-old Russian Ilya Polonskiy (ranked near 2,241) in the first round of the ITF M15 Monastir 28 on outdoor hard courts.** Cardinaud has logged extensive recent hard-court experience in the Monastir series, though his 2026 singles record shows early-round exits (e.g., straight-set losses to Alujas and Larue). Polonskiy, a left-hander with a career-high ranking from 2014, mixes wins and losses in lower-level events and has limited recent hard-court data after clay-focused play. The matchup pits Cardinaud’s youth and local familiarity against Polonskiy’s experience; no prior head-to-head exists, and neither player reports confirmed injuries or late changes. Market pricing reflects trader consensus on these factors and the inherent variability of ITF outcomes.
