Spain vs. Belgium - First Team to Score
Game context
Spain enters the 2026 World Cup quarterfinal against Belgium as the clear favorite to score first, driven by La Roja’s tournament-long possession dominance and defensive organization that has produced five straight clean sheets. Spain’s 1-0 round-of-16 win over Portugal featured late control after an early siege, underscoring their ability to dictate tempo and create higher-quality chances. Belgium’s 4-1 rout of the United States showcased sharp counter-attacking threat and contributions from Charles De Ketelaere, yet the Red Devils have faced fewer sustained periods of pressure than they will against Spain’s midfield. The all-European matchup at SoFi Stadium favors the side with superior build-up play and set-piece execution, aligning with the current implied probabilities reflected in trader positioning.
