Vilius Gaubas, the higher-ranked Lithuanian at ATP No. 120, holds the edge in this US Open qualifying final on hard courts against British No. 196 Harry Wendelken. Gaubas advanced with straight-sets wins over Kilian Feldbausch and Marco Cecchinato, building on his Wimbledon main-draw appearance earlier in 2026. Wendelken reached this stage after a grueling three-set victory over Rémy Bertola in which he saved a match point and prevailed 5-7, 7-6, 6-4. With no prior head-to-head history, the matchup pits Gaubas’s superior ranking, serve consistency, and qualifying momentum against Wendelken’s recent resilience and return aggression, creating a competitive third-round qualifier where small margins on hard courts will likely decide advancement to the main draw.
