Cincinnati Open, Qualification: Martin Damm vs Stefanos Sakellaridis

Game context
Martin Damm enters the Cincinnati Open qualifiers holding a clear edge in ranking and recent ATP-level experience, with a career-high near the top 100 and a semifinal run at Montpellier earlier in 2026. The American arrives after a straight-sets loss to Stefanos Tsitsipas in Montreal but boasts a stronger hard-court resume and deeper main-draw exposure. Sakellaridis, ranked in the mid-140s after reaching a career high in June, has shown progress with a maiden Challenger title in Delhi and qualifier wins on grass at Wimbledon, yet he remains winless in ATP main-draw matches this season. Both players compete on outdoor hard courts, where Damm’s recent form and higher ranking position him as the consensus favorite in trader pricing, though Sakellaridis’s youth and momentum from lower-tier events keep upset potential alive in a single-elimination qualifier.
