US Open, Qualification ATP: Marco Cecchinato vs Liam Broady

Game context
Liam Broady and Marco Cecchinato meet in the opening round of 2026 US Open qualifying on hard courts, with Broady holding a clear edge in recent trader pricing. Broady enters with stronger 2026 win rates and a perfect head-to-head record after a straight-sets victory at Wimbledon 2021, while both players sit outside the top 150 and rely on challenger-level results for momentum. Cecchinato, ranked near 173, has mixed clay results this summer including early exits at Umag but limited hard-court preparation. Broady has competed extensively on North American hard courts with mixed outcomes in recent challengers yet shows better deciding-set reliability. The match represents Broady’s bid for a maiden US Open main-draw appearance against a veteran Italian with deeper Grand Slam pedigree.
