Navone enters this US Open second-round matchup on hard courts with significant momentum after upsetting Novak Djokovic in five sets in the first round, marking one of the Argentine’s biggest career victories. The 49th-ranked player also defeated Berrettini in their most recent meeting on hard at the Montreal Masters just a month earlier. Berrettini, ranked 43rd and standing 6-foot-5 with a powerful serve-forehand combination, leads the head-to-head 3-1 overall but has a history of recurring injuries that forced a retirement at the 2026 French Open quarterfinals. The Italian advanced past Stan Wawrinka in the opener, yet Navone’s recent hard-court edge and elevated confidence from the Djokovic result shape the primary dynamics traders are weighing for this Grand Slam encounter.
