Carol Young Suh Lee enters the Cincinnati Open qualifying round 1 on outdoor hard courts as the slight market favorite over Polina Kudermetova despite trailing in WTA ranking (165 versus 103). Lee, a 24-year-old American with a strong hard-court record and recent deep runs including a Warsaw final appearance, benefits from home-soil momentum and a wild-card entry. Kudermetova, the 23-year-old Uzbek with a career-high ranking of 54 and multiple Top-100 wins, brings greater overall experience and a solid 33-16 record this season but arrives after an early exit and retirement in Toronto. The matchup lacks prior head-to-head data, making recent form, physical freshness, and adaptation to the fast North American hard-court conditions the primary variables shaping implied probabilities.
