Nikola Bartunkova2Game context
Nikola Bartunkova enters her first meeting with Amanda Anisimova on strong momentum after upsetting No. 27 seed Clara Tauson in straight sets to reach the third round of the 2026 National Bank Open in Toronto. The 20-year-old Czech, ranked around No. 42 with a 26-16 record in 2026, has shown improved consistency on outdoor hard courts following earlier WTA 125 finals and Australian Open run. Anisimova, a two-time Grand Slam finalist, brings greater experience but limited recent match play after multiple withdrawals from wrist issues that sidelined her for much of the spring and early summer. Traders will weigh Bartunkova’s in-form baseline game and athleticism against Anisimova’s power and court craft on a surface favoring aggressive play, with fitness and rust key variables in this WTA 1000 round-of-32 clash.
