Derry City FC vs. PFK CSKA Sofia - First Team to Score

Game context
Both sides enter this UEFA Europa League first qualifying round tie evenly matched on paper, with Derry City’s solid recent League of Ireland form—marked by a 2-0 win over Drogheda and draws against stronger domestic sides—offsetting CSKA Sofia’s home advantage at Vasil Levski Stadium. Historical encounters between Irish and Bulgarian clubs have often produced tight, low-scoring affairs decided by single goals or set-piece moments, while neither team has shown consistent early dominance in recent matches. The absence of major confirmed injury updates or lineup changes further supports the balanced trader consensus around the first goal, reflecting the unpredictable nature of qualifying ties where defensive organization and transition play frequently dictate the opening score.
