Washington Nationals vs. Texas Rangers

Game context
The Washington Nationals (60-67) enter this interleague series against the Texas Rangers (62-64) while sitting fourth in the NL East and on a recent skid, hampered by the absence of outfielder James Wood (oblique strain) along with multiple starters on the injured list including Josiah Gray and DJ Herz. The Rangers, second in the AL West, hold a modest edge in overall record and benefit from home-field advantage at Globe Life Field after shutting out Washington 5-0 behind Cal Quantrill on August 18. Both clubs face rotation challenges, with the Rangers also monitoring Jacob deGrom’s triceps issue and Nathan Eovaldi’s elbow. Recent form, bullpen reliability, and how the Nationals’ offense performs without Wood against Texas pitching will shape outcomes in the remaining games.
