St. Louis Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Game context
The Philadelphia Phillies enter the Saturday matchup at Citizens Bank Park riding a season-high seven-game win streak and 8-2 stretch in their last ten, sitting at 71-58 in the NL East with strong home results. Andrew Painter takes the ball despite a 6.43 ERA, while the Cardinals counter with Quinn Mathews in a spot where St. Louis (66-64) faces mounting rotation injuries, including Andre Pallante on the IL and Hunter Dobbins dealing with forearm tightness. Philadelphia’s offense, led by Kyle Schwarber’s 37 home runs and hot hitting from Alec Bohm, has capitalized on recent form, while the Cardinals lean on Jordan Walker’s power and a 6-4 road record amid their push for a wild-card spot. The season series remains competitive after Friday’s extra-inning result.
