San Francisco Giants vs. Boston Red Sox

Game context
The Boston Red Sox (69-59) host the San Francisco Giants (52-76) for the second game of their series at Fenway Park, with the AL East club holding a significant edge driven by overall team strength and home performance. Boston’s rotation features proven arms like Sonny Gray (15-3, 2.65 ERA) while the Giants counter with Logan Webb (8-7, 3.50 ERA) and lesser-known options in subsequent starts; recent form shows the Giants dropping most road contests and struggling offensively on the road. Multiple injuries on both rosters, including long-term absences for key Boston position players and Giants starters, further shape bullpen and lineup depth. Trader consensus reflects the Red Sox’s stronger standing and venue advantage against a last-place NL West opponent.
