Minnesota Twins vs. Athletics

Game context
The Minnesota Twins enter the August 24 matchup with a 63-68 record, holding a clear edge over the 51-80 Athletics in the AL standings despite both clubs sitting outside playoff contention. Recent form favors Minnesota after they took three of four from Oakland in late July at Target Field. Key roster developments include the Twins placing starter Joe Ryan on the injured list with a glute strain and outfielder Austin Martin on the 10-day IL with a hamstring issue, while Byron Buxton has returned from his own hip problem but shown diminished production. The Athletics continue to manage a depleted roster, with shortstop Jacob Wilson and first baseman Nick Kurtz sidelined long-term alongside other pitching and position-player absences. Home-field factors at Sutter Health Park and bullpen depth will likely influence late-inning outcomes in the three-game set.
