Detroit Tigers vs. Houston Astros

Game context
Both teams enter the three-game series at Daikin Park with sub-.500 records, the Tigers at 29-42 and the Astros at 33-39 or 33-40, leaving little margin for error in a tight AL Central and AL West. Recent roster moves highlight injury impacts, with Detroit placing starter Casey Mize on the 15-day IL and Houston sidelining infielder Nick Allen while monitoring returns for key arms like Hunter Brown. Probable pitching matchups feature limited track records for several starters, increasing bullpen reliance amid back-end depth concerns for both clubs. Home-field factors, including potential heat and thunderstorm activity, combine with each side’s middling run differentials and recent inconsistencies to shape a competitive early-summer matchup where small edges in health and recent form could shift implied probabilities.
