Chicago White Sox vs. Boston Red Sox

Game context
The Chicago White Sox visit the Boston Red Sox for the middle game of a three-game set at Fenway Park on August 5, with implied probabilities reflecting a near toss-up driven by both clubs’ recent form and roster health. Boston enters on a tear, sitting at 60-51 and riding strong second-half momentum that includes a franchise-tying win streak and a sweep of the Dodgers, though key arms remain on the injured list. Chicago, at 59-52 and atop the AL Central, has posted a 3.33 ERA over its past several outings and limited opponents to minimal runs on the current road trip. Official injury reports list multiple starters and relievers unavailable for each side, tightening bullpen usage and lineup options. The evenly matched records, home-field dynamics, and pitching matchups explain why traders see only a modest edge for the Red Sox while recognizing realistic upset potential for the visitors.
