Game context
Houston Astros host the Toronto Blue Jays on August 5 with a clear edge in team form and pitching depth. The Astros sit at 59-56 atop the AL West, while the Blue Jays linger at 53-61 in the AL East basement. Hunter Brown (3-1, 3.42 ERA) takes the mound against Jameson Taillon (2-6, 5.92 ERA), giving Houston a substantial rotation advantage at Daikin Park. Toronto’s recent outing unraveled after starter Trey Yesavage exited early with left knee discomfort, contributing to a lopsided defeat. Limited notable injuries affect either active roster, though the Astros’ stronger overall roster health and home performance sustain trader consensus around their implied probability in the matchup.
