Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Atlanta Braves

Game context
The Arizona Diamondbacks enter the August 16 matchup at Truist Park with strong recent momentum after taking the first two games of the series, including a 10-3 rout on August 15 and a 2-0 shutout the prior night. Their 65-58 record places them in playoff contention in the NL West, while the 73-49 Braves lead the NL East despite a recent skid. Probable starters Michael Soroka (8-3, 2.92 ERA) for Arizona and Bryce Elder (8-7, 4.03 ERA) for Atlanta set up a favorable edge for the visitors on the mound. Both clubs deal with extensive pitching injuries—Atlanta notably missing Spencer Strider, Spencer Schwellenbach, and Reynaldo López—yet the Braves retain home-field advantage and superior overall depth. Recent form and bullpen reliability will likely shape trader sentiment around this interleague contest.
