Botic van de Zandschulp676Game context
Alex de Minaur enters this US Open second-round matchup as the clear favorite due to his No. 7 ranking, strong hard-court record, and 4-0 head-to-head dominance over Botic van de Zandschulp, including recent straight-sets or three-set wins on the surface. The Australian advanced comfortably past qualifier Andrea Guerrieri in three sets despite rain delays, while the Dutchman, ranked 70th, defeated Jan Choinski in three sets after a mixed hard-court swing that included wins over higher-ranked players in Montreal and Cincinnati but losses in Winston-Salem and elsewhere. Van de Zandschulp’s recent form shows resilience and aggressive baseline play, yet de Minaur’s superior return game, consistency, and Grand Slam experience shape trader consensus around a high implied probability for the higher seed in this best-of-five encounter.
